From IT to Craftsmanship: The Unexpected Journey of Keiyosa

From IT to Craftsmanship: The Unexpected Journey of Keiyosa

At Keiyosa, our story is one of evolution, passion, and a fair bit of "how did we get here?" I started in the tech world, where the only thing I crafted was network connections and coffee. After a brief and somewhat confusing detour into composites for car parts (don’t ask), we found ourselves knee-deep in woodworking machines, all in the name of improving mould-making. Little did we know, those machines would soon become the new loves of our lives.

It all began with a few jewellery boxes made as gifts. Those presents were a hit that bespoke orders began. Suddenly, we were making handcrafted boxes. We even made a few videos on YouTube for these.

We then expanded our creative horizons to desk organisation with the Cubit desk trays and The Band headphone stand. Who knew desk tidiness could be so stylish?

Our big break came in the form of an unusual request: calligraphy drying racks. This project led us to develop the Tilt, inspired by Grania’s need to tilt an ink pot without removing it from its holder. It turns out, creating innovative solutions is a lot more fun than patching network cables. Who knew?

Today, Keiyosa are known for unique homeware pieces that blend function and flair. We take pride in our ability to transform ideas into tangible, beautiful objects that make everyday life a bit more delightful. The journey from an IT professional to skilled artisan might seem like a series of happy accidents, but it's driven by a passion for solving problems in the most attractive way possible. At Keiyosa, every creation tells a story of our unexpected yet wonderful adventure.
